Tokyo is hosting the 2020 Olympics, and the airport is getting ready well in advance, with this rather nifty running track to help guide travellers get into the spirit of things (and navigate around the airport)

The foot traffic lanes at Narita Terminal 3 are colour-coded with stenciled symbols to represent various airport destinations. The design came about as a constraint of the project’s low budget, and the flights operating from the terminal are mostly low-cost carriers.

We love the combination of simple and stylish colours and symbols paired with making a busy public place more usable, as well as having a sense of fun to boot.

The only thing we’re left wondering is – how quickly could Michael Johnson get around this while dragging a 23kg suitcase behind him?
